Specified Disease Rider

A heart attack, stroke or cancer diagnosis can bring medical bills far larger than a limited-benefit plan was built to handle. A thoughtful solution plans for the serious conditions no one expects.

The Specified Disease Rider should fit the bigger picture

The Specified Disease Rider is an add-on to a ManhattanLife Affordable Choice plan—not a standalone policy. After you meet the deductible you choose, it pays covered charges for 14 specified conditions and procedures, including heart attack, stroke, internal cancer, ALS, end-stage renal failure, major organ failure or transplant, joint replacement and certain cardiac procedures, up to a calendar-year maximum.

Our approach: relationships before transactions, service before sales, and education before recommendations.

What we help you evaluate

Deductible and maximum

You choose a deductible and a calendar-year maximum. We help you weigh how each choice affects your cost and when benefits begin.

Eligibility and timing

The rider can be added when you apply for Affordable Choice or later, subject to underwriting approval. Child-only coverage is not available.

State availability

ManhattanLife is rolling the rider out state by state. We confirm it is available where you live before you apply.

How the process works

1. Start with a conversation

Tell us what you are protecting, what changed and what concern brought you here.

2. Complete the assessment

We gather the details needed to identify exposures, priorities and realistic options.

3. Review the solution

We explain the recommendation, important limitations and the next step in plain language.

The Specified Disease Rider is available only with a ManhattanLife Affordable Choice policy and is subject to underwriting approval. Affordable Choice provides limited benefits and is not major medical coverage. Coverage, eligibility, availability and terms vary by carrier, product, state and individual circumstances. This page is for general educational purposes and is not a binder, policy or guarantee of coverage.
